Our Programs

What is Speech & Drama?

Speech & Drama offers creative, educator-led sessions where young people build confidence in their voice, communication, and presence through drama, movement, storytelling, and performance. Classes are small, supportive, and designed to feel engaging and achievable. No prior experience is required. Learn more about Speech & Drama.

What is Tell & Show?

Tell & Show is a joyful introduction to communication and creativity for early learners, using story, movement, rhythm, music, and imaginative play. Classes are educator-led, small in size, and designed to feel warm, playful, and supportive. No prior experience is required. Learn more about Tell & Show.

What does a session look like?

Each program follows a familiar session structure. Speech & Drama sessions include warm-ups, guided activities, drama games, creative tasks such as short scene work or poetry, and reflection. Tell & Show sessions move through welcome and warm-up, story, rhythm, rhyme, and a calm closing activity. Full session details are on each program page.

What ages do you teach, and how are classes grouped?

We welcome children from age 1 through to teenagers. Tell & Show | Juniors is for early learners aged 1–5 years, with weekly morning sessions. Speech & Drama is grouped by age into Middles (5–10 years) and Seniors (10+ years). Private sessions are available by appointment for any age.

Does my child need any experience to start?

No prior experience is needed for any of our classes. Tell & Show and Speech & Drama are designed to welcome every child, whatever their background or confidence level. We create a warm, playful, and pressure-free environment where confidence grows naturally and each child develops at their own pace.

Do you offer AMEB or VCE speech and drama preparation?

Yes. Through private tuition we offer pathways that can include AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board) speech and drama exams and VCE preparation, tailored to each student's goals. Get in touch to discuss whether these pathways suit your young person.

Do you run school productions?

Yes. Ranges Studio partners with schools across the Macedon Ranges and regional Victoria to create musicals and plays, offering creative direction, choreography, performance coaching, staging, and production design. Past productions include The Lion King, Honk!, and Peter Pan.

Practical Information

What should my young person bring to class?

Comfortable clothing, a clearly labelled water bottle, and optionally a clear A4 folder for handouts. All learning materials are provided by Ranges Studio.

Who runs the classes?

All classes are led by Nic, founder and lead educator, who holds a Master of Teaching (Primary & Secondary), is registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT), and is a member of the Speech & Drama Teachers Association of Victoria (SDTAV), with more than 25 years of experience across early learning, primary, and secondary settings. Programs are developmentally appropriate and supportive, with no pressure to perform.

Where are classes held, and which towns do you serve?

Our home base is Jubilee Hall, 52 Smith Street, Macedon, where our established weekly classes run. We are also taking expressions of interest for classes in Gisborne, Riddells Creek, and Sunbury, and serve families across the Macedon Ranges, Victoria. Let us know your preferred location and we'll keep you updated.

What days and times do classes run?

Speech & Drama runs on Thursdays at Macedon, with Seniors from 4:00–5:00pm and Middles from 5:00–6:00pm. Tell & Show | Juniors runs in weekly morning sessions at 9:30–10:15am, 10:15–11:00am, and 11:00–11:45am. We're also gauging interest in a Tuesday class. Private sessions are available by appointment. Days and locations can change each term, so please check the home page or enrolment form for current options.

How big are the classes?

Classes are intentionally kept small so every child receives individual attention and feels supported. Small groups keep sessions focused and friendly, and let our educator adapt activities to each child. Places are limited, so early enrolment is recommended.

Will my child be photographed during class?

From time to time we photograph or record classes and performances for our website, social media, and printed materials. By enrolling you consent to general class and performance photography, but if you'd prefer your child not to be photographed, just let us know in writing at any time and we'll accommodate it. See our Terms of Enrolment for details.

Enrolment & Fees

How do I enrol or register interest?

Enrolment is completed via an online form prior to the first class. Please get in touch for current availability or to register your interest in a location or day.

How are fees structured?

Fees reflect our small group sizes, qualified educator, weekly guided sessions, and carefully prepared materials. For the current term (Term 3, 20 July – 10 September 2026) we offer a Season Pass at $200, a Studio Pass at $80 for a flexible 3-class pass, and a Single Pass at $30 for one session. All prices are GST inclusive and family passes are available. See the enrolment page for current options.

When is payment due, and what is your refund policy?

Invoices are issued by email and payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date unless otherwise arranged. Processed payments cannot be refunded, but any overpayment is credited to future sessions. Classes are not held on Victorian public holidays and you are not charged for those weeks — your child's place is always retained.

What if I need to withdraw from the program?

We ask for two weeks' written notice to withdraw, which can be sent by email to [email protected]. Fees remain payable during the notice period. There's no long-term contract — you can enrol on a term-by-term basis.

What if we miss a class?

Passes are designed for regular attendance within the term. Where possible, missed sessions can be made up during the same term. Please let us know if you need to miss a session and we will do our best to support a make-up.
